2. Job Purpose

To carry out maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on the plant’s electrical machinery and equipment in accordance with standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards to attain effective functionality and reliability.

4. Key Accountabilities

Electrical Maintenance

  • Carry out daily and routine preventive electrical maintenance according to schedules and GSTS and VOLTARA procedures.
  • Monitor physical condition of equipment and report non-conformances to supervisors and engineers.
  • Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test electrical faults in circuits, wiring, and cables.
  • Identify causes of malfunction in transformers, motors, relays, switches, and control systems; collaborate with Electrical Engineer/Supervisor for resolution.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams to execute maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment per specifications and maintain repair/calibration/test records.
  • Develop expertise in one or more of the following core fields:
    • Inverters, SCB, Strings
    • LV / HV apparatus
    • SCADA
    • Transformers

Inventory

  • Check stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.

Documentation

  • Update maintenance logs and records of all work carried out, including defaults, problems, and findings.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to identifying and implementing change initiatives, programs, and projects in line with organizational standards.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

  • Adhere to organizational and departmental policies, standard maintenance procedures, and instructions to ensure consistency and quality of work.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

  • Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and controls to ensure safety and compliance with environmental regulations.

Related Assignments

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

5. Communication & Working Relationships

Internal: Work closely with Electrical Supervisor, Engineers, and the Operations Team.

External: Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed.

6. Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical Certificate / Associate’s Diploma in Electrical Maintenance.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in electrical maintenance as a technician or supervisor in a plant environment.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Skills:

  • Knowledge in testing and commissioning of PV, HV, and MV systems.
  • Strong practical knowledge of PV packages, HV & MV systems; capable of scheduling and executing PM plans and leading maintenance teams (4–6 members).
  • In-depth knowledge of substation equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, relays, control systems); 220 KV experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools for PV & BESS plant performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management methods, predictive inspection tools, and CMMS (SAP template preferred).
  • Experience conducting outages for critical electrical equipment.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Basic understanding of PV and BESS SCADA systems and communication protocols.
