2. Job Purpose

To carry out maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on the plant’s electrical machinery and equipment in accordance with standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards to attain effective functionality and reliability.

4. Key Accountabilities

Electrical Maintenance

  • Carry out required daily and routine preventive electrical maintenance work according to set schedules and VOLTARA & GSTS procedures to ensure continuous operations.
  • Monitor the physical condition of all equipment in assigned plant areas and report non-conformances to Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor to maintain effective operations in compliance with Quality and HSE standards.
  • Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions in adherence with procedures to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair wiring or circuit faults; locate faults in cables and verify insulation and voltage endurance.
  • Diagnose causes of electrical malfunction in operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches, and control systems; coordinate with Electrical Engineer / Supervisor for resolution.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to specifications and maintain accurate repair, calibration, and test records.
  • Develop expertise in one or more of the following core fields:
    • Inverters
    • LV / HV Apparatus
    • SCADA
    • Transformers

Inventory

  • Check and maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts to support effective maintenance and inventory control.

Documentation

  • Update maintenance logbooks and record details of all maintenance work, faults, and findings for accurate reference and reporting.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in identifying and implementing change initiatives, improvement programs, and projects in line with organizational standards.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

  • Comply with all departmental policies, processes, and maintenance procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

  • Follow all HSE procedures and controls to ensure the safety of employees and compliance with environmental regulations.

Related Assignments

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Internal: Work closely with Electrical Supervisors, Engineers, and the Operations Team.

6. Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical Certificate / Associate’s Diploma in Electrical Maintenance.

Minimum Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance involving installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment in a plant environment.

Skills:

  • Practical knowledge of relevant plant equipment.
  • Awareness of HSE and quality standards.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • ISO awareness or working knowledge preferred.
  • Competent in English writing, reading, and listening.
