2. Job Purpose

To supervise and manage maintenance activities in the plant, including all preventive and corrective maintenance, planned outages, and overhauling work activities for all electrical equipment in accordance with maintenance plans, HSE guidelines, and quality standards to ensure plant availability, equipment reliability, and effective design review of PV and BESS documents.

4. Key Accountabilities

Operation and Maintenance Management

  • Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance and overhauling work activities to ensure continuity and reliability of plant electrical equipment.
  • Manage timely responses to emergency breakdowns and ensure prompt corrective action to minimize downtime and potential liquidated damages.
  • Develop and promote condition-based preventive maintenance by conducting troubleshooting and root cause analyses to reduce reactive maintenance.

Troubleshooting and Technical Guidance

  • Troubleshoot critical problems and investigate faults to determine optimal repair actions while ensuring compliance with GSTS quality and HSE standards.
  • Review and analyze electrical equipment data and conduct site engineering studies to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Prepare feasibility studies for new installations or modifications, including technical evaluations, specifications, and cost estimates.

Outage Management

  • Forecast manpower and material requirements to ensure timely execution of maintenance plans.
  • Coordinate planning and execution of annual outage maintenance for critical electrical equipment, ensuring EHS, cost, and schedule compliance.

Documentation

  • Ensure maintenance documentation in SAP is accurately completed, including logs outlining faults, repair methods, labor, and materials used.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

  • Ensure compliance with all HSSE policies and permit-to-work systems.
  • Work with HSE teams to ensure rules are communicated, PPE is used, and incidents are investigated and prevented from recurring.

Material Management

  • Prepare monthly and annual requirements for spares and materials to support maintenance plans.
  • Conduct technical evaluations with procurement to recommend suitable materials and equipment.

Networking

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external contractors to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Liaise with EPC and OEM contractors for technical clarifications and guidance.

SAP Administration

  • Oversee SAP processes related to electrical maintenance, ensuring accurate data management, planning, and reporting.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives and support operational excellence programs.

Policies, Processes, and Procedures

  • Adhere to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures to maintain consistency and quality standards.

People Management

  • Supervise team members to ensure achievement of objectives and compliance with policies, processes, and systems.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as required by the line manager.

6. Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Renewable Engineering.

Minimum Experience:

  • 7–10 years’ experience in Electrical Maintenance within renewable or power generation plants.
  • At least 4 years in a supervisory or site management role.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of PV components including inverters, modules, trackers, and monitoring systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to solar energy and O&M.
  • Proficiency with substation equipment, transformers, breakers, relays, and 220kV systems.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools for PV & BESS performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of PVsyst, CUF, and LPF analysis.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems and SAP.
  • Strong project management, planning, and people management skills.
  • Experience conducting outages for critical electrical equipment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
